about

Hi, I’m Kate.

I’ve been working in PR for the past eight years, first at as Agency Manager at a boutique home interiors & gifts agency operating a unique pay-per-results model, and then as Director at London-based digital communications agency October.

Now a freelance PR & Marketing strategist based in Manchester, UK, I work with a variety of independent brands offering support, coaching and management services across a wide variety of specialisms. I have a ‘holistic’ approach to all PR & Marketing activities, focusing on the ‘bigger picture’ and primary goal which, let’s face it, is usually to increase sales revenue! It doesn’t hurt that prior to my career in PR, I managed the shop floor of a large home interiors department at a well known high street department store..

I work with a number of brands in the design industry in a number of different ways: as a consultant, as a project manager on short-term campaigns and on a monthly retainer basis, dependant upon the requirements of the brand.

If you are interested in working with me in any capacity please get in touch by emailing hello@katedoes.co.uk

Alongside my freelance ‘day job’ I’ve been also been blogging as Fabric of my Life since 2009, landing Best Interiors Blog at the inaugural Northern Blog Awards in 2017 and receiving mentions in many national magazines and newspapers, including The Times Online, The Telegraph, Red Online, Good Homes, Ideal Home and more. I established my blog initially as an online scrapbook of inspiration; a place where i could hoard all my favourite visual imagery, design ideas, thoughts and musings into one big magpie’s nest. Since then, my blog has grown into a personal passion project, incorporating my love of interiors, design, food and travel, and most recently, my relocation north from London to Manchester.

I work with carefully selected brand partners, whose aesthetic and ethos are a fit with Fabric of my Life, on a range of collaborative projects. If you are interested in speaking with me about content opportunities on Fabric of my Life, please do get in touch via my blog.

I’m also the founder of a new online platform, Be More Hive, which helps brands and influencers work together in a more honest and authentic way, to create content that truly matters. You can find out more about why we were compelled to start this Conversational Hub, and how you can get involved, here.
